The Count Of Monte Cristo
2 journalers for this copy...
I don't know what made me want to read this book, but I really liked it. This year, I decided to read older books that I've always heard of but never read. This was the first. It has a little of everything - romance, conspiracy, mystery. Parts of it are funny in an overly dramatic way simply because of the time period it's written in to the way society interacts now. But overall, I enjoyed reading it. I'll definitely read other books by Dumas.

This was waiting for me in the mailbox today, thank you so much! Did you ever receive the book I sent to you?
Ok, well now I can say that I read The Count of Monte Cristo. However, I'm not really sure what to think about it. The writing was great, I won't deny that. But the way Edmond Dantes went about getting his revenge didn't always sit well with me. I understand why he sought revenge, but for the most part, I don't agree with how he went about it. He doesn't just destroy your life, he destroys the lives of everyone around you.
My husband wants to read this and then it will be released into the wild.
