In an old jam factory in Somerset the Court of King Arthur has been re-created. At least, it has been re-created as far as a tight budget will allow: the chainmail is knitted string and jousts take place; there is a Queen of the Tournament. Above all the man Kentmere who knows and dominates the place is obsessed with notions of honour and of justice within an without the law.
'Sounds a bit gimcrack, doesn't it? Jam factories, Australian knights and so on?' So says Birdie Linnet to Nimue, his mistress. They are on their way to the new Camelot where Birdie has been advised - by an old friend from his days in the police force - that he might find a job.
Birdie gets the job and finds himself in the half-real world that Kentmere has created and that has attracted a weird assortment of characters with a variety of notions. He can sense trouble brewing before a sudden and messy death demans that he exert the old skills learnt from his service in the police.
With help from Nimue, Birdie sets about trying to find out what has happened. What he discovers is strange and shocking and leads to a sensational finale.
Gillian Linscott's third novel follows A Healthy Body and Murder Makes Tracks.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I really enjoyed this mystery crime story. The characters live in a King Arthur Realm re-enactment environment. Am sure future readers will smile too as the hero is such a sweet and believable character.
This book has been out travelling for some time but is now available to read once more.
