I really didn't get on with this book. I didnt get to the point where i couldnt put it down nor did i ever want to keep on reading. I carried onto the end thinking it would get much better but I was disappointed.
I didn't like the style of writing in that it was written almost through a child's thoughts. I found the jumping from one subject to another a distraction but did enjoy the way her intelligence was channeled and used through the use of experiments. I certainly never did anything like that as a child!!
I didn't by any means hate it and it did get me thinking about the homeless and how people manage in that situation.
I know my daughters school recommend this book as a good read, and maybe it is more suited to teenagers? Anyway please try it and I hope you enjoy it more than I did..

Sent to a bookcrosser who had this book on her wish list. Hope you enjoy!
Book arrived safely today, thanks so much Cornishdune! :)
I heard someone speak well about this book, well enough for me to put it on my wishlist... now I'm curious to find out what I really think!
Edit 7. October 2012: Read this while on holidays in Amsterdam/Netherlands, and actually quite liked it! The writing style is special, but it reflected the me-person in the book well, I think. I picked it up after seeing the film "Being Flynn", which also touches on the subject of homeless, and it suited my mood. Read it within a day, and enjoyed it.
