A policeman and a nun team up in the Solomon Islands.
Very good. Set in the 1960s, the Solomon islands are starting their transition into independence from Britain. Sgt Kella is a mission educated Islanser, who also happens to be the 'peacekeeper' in traditional custom. His role would be semi-equivalent to a medecine man in Tony Hillerman's Jum Chee series. The good sister Conchita is also an interesting character, as a young nun working for social justice ala the sisters in Latin America. A series to watch for, I hope you enjoy it.

Unfortunately for this book, I don't generally enjoy mysteries, so I kind of had to force myself through this. That said, it is fun to read a book set in a completely new environment, and that makes for a pleasant learning experience.
