I cannot express my admiration for Vernor Vinge with sufficient force.
This book includes a culture of star traders (the Qeng, pronounced Cheng, Ho), a boy from a medieval society, several advanced human cultures, despair, hope, fear, and some of the most fascinating aliens on the most fascinating alien world I have ever come across.
I'm not putting this as available, as I know someone who will love the book if he's not already read it. He doesn't use computers, so if he does take it it will be put, unannounced, on the shelves of the Camel and Artichoke, Lower Marsh, Waterloo, London.

Picked this up from the Bookcrossing shelf in the 'Camel and Artichoke' in Lower Marsh. I really like the area and always try to drop by, time permitting. I like SF so I'll probably read it before passing it on to someone or re-releasing it.
