The Hundred Secret Senses

An enthralling read. The central character, Kwan, is richly and evocatively portrayed, her supernatural memories of previous lives in China are magical. But I did find the character Olivia a bit of a whinger, and despite drawing you into believing in Kwan's spooky ability to feel her past, the story did get a bit far-fetched at the end. All in all a very worthy follow up to The Joy Luck Club.
