Purchased from Red Lion Books in Colchester to turn into a book ray. I read my first copy of this book in September 2011 and wrote "A brilliant first novel, really gripping and edgy."
Elizabeth Haynes should be giving a talk at the BookCrossing UK UnConvention in Colchester at the end of September 2012.

A creepy and disturbing book. I felt it was a little overlong. It would benefit from some more editing and tightening up, which would have earned it one more star. Looking forward to seeing whether the second book is as good.
PMing booktwitcher for his/her address.

I agree with rahar109 about the book being too long. However, it was a page turner and although there is a lot of strong language it is relevant to the lifestyle and ages of the main character.

Delighted to report that this arrived in the post this morning and I'll be starting it as soon as I've finished one of my current two books. Thank you very much to booktwitcher for sending it on and to ardachy for starting the Ray, not forgetting greetings to rahar109 as well :-) Looking forward to seeing you all in Colchester!

Oh dear, I'm exhausted! All this jumping around in time and place is making my head ache! I'm only on page 13 and already I've been to Lancaster and London, in May 2005, June 2001, October 2007, October 2003, November 2007 .... I hope it slows down soon! I'm too old to live life at this pace .... phew ....

I'm sorry! This isn't for me! I'm quitting on p60! If I have to sit through another OCD round of washing, scrubbing, locking, checking and such like, then I'll be having a screaming panic attack of my own! I've resisted the temptation to throw the book across the room and will put it back in the post instead - as soon as I have an address for the next reader! On a positive side, at least it had settled down into just two storylines, one in the present and one in the past, as it were, but unfortunately was jumping between them with a frequency that was making me feel giddy! My apologies and thanks to its previous owners ....

Still no reply from the next reader but it's holiday time, so I'll leave it another week or so before writing again, especially as there are no other names on the list.

I really enjoyed this psychological thriller. The book wasn't well edited, the timing and locations didn't always tie in (for example, getting up at dawn in December and 2 hours later it was 8am). However, I really enjoyed the 2 intertwining timelines (once I'd got my head round them) which followed the same person 'before and after'. I also found the OCD episodes interesting rather than irritating - I had recently seen a TV documentary on OCD so it meant something to me.
Though not brilliantly written I did think this was an original and scary storyline. Found it difficult to put down. Looking forward to seeing the author at the Unconvention in September. Will now get this book moving again.

Yet another book which I could not put down. Very unusual to have two dialogues from the same character but at different times and as diary entries.

I thought this was a very good book. I thought the before and after storylines made it very intruiging but I agree that it could have been edited more. Even so, she wrote it as part of NaNoWriMo which I am planning to do this year and if my novel turns out even half as good as this one I'll be quite pleased.
Does this book have another reader waiting yet?

I thought this book was very good and couldn't put it down. I took it on holiday to Bangkok and stayed up all night reading it, although that was partly due to jet lag. I've left it in Bangkok with my boyfriend's sister.
