Given to me by a good friend, who insisted I must read it. Well okay! :)

From the back: "It is a good time to be a woman: we have the vote and the Pill, and we haven;t been burnt as witches since 1727. However a few nagging questions still remain... Why are we supposed to get Bazilians? Should we use botox? Do men secretly hate us? And why does everyone ask you when you are going to have a baby?

Part memoire, part rant, Caitlin Moran answers the questions that every modern woman is asking."

Fun read, but also a good and important read. I feel like this book will stay with me for a while, and things will emerge and resonate.

To be honest, some of the messages didn't really work for me (ie: what is wrong with calling your vagina "vagina" or your boobs "boobs"? I don't understand her obession with calling female body parts by other names). And I disagreed with some stuff (ie: her assessment of women's contribution to history)

However, the vast majority of this book is hilarious, touching, insightful and powerful. I feel just a bit stronger for having read it, and it helps people think through some feminist theory in an easy-to-digest way. Will definitely be recommending this to others!
