Interesting genre, worth a read if you enjoy slow release of the plot and moral dimenas.
Picked up at BC meetup at Green Sage Cafe, Templestowe Lower.
This book left me gasping. Has taken me a couple of hours to recover from the last couple of pages. Well worth the read and I'm going to try and track down another 'Neil Cross' novel. An easy read and felt the father / son relationship in my heart as I did the brother / sister relationship all the way through.
Released 11 yrs ago (2/11/2013 UTC) at Templestowe Lower, Victoria Australia
CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
To be released at February's BC meetup at Green Sage Cafe, Templestowe Lower.
Found this on my shelf. Whoops forgot to journal it when I brought it home - onto Mt TBR it goes.
Taking this book with me on our trek up Cape York Peninsula. My aim is to read, then release in an exotic location so let's hope we hear from it again!
A gripping story I have been reading as we travel the outback. Every night for the last three, I have had to put it down as I thought if I read further I would not be able to sleep at all! Incredible how what appeared to be a happy family broke down irretrievably when Sam's wife died. I could not believe the decisions he made to protect his son Jamie. The ending was quite shocking!
A good read, but certainly not a serious contender for the Booker prize.
