Not As Far As Velma

Don't remember reading this one, but I love Freeling's (and van de Vettering's) mysteries
I have the opportunity to pass it on to a military person overseas through Marine Corps Moms' collecting things to send overseas in a Thanksgiving and Christmas shipment from Blue Haven drop off points in the Dallas Fort Worth area, so this one is going. Books were on the wish list.
Freeling "is the author of over thirty novels, all featuring runimative, unorthodox detectives, sophisticated settings and plots, and an introspective and always provocative view of human nature." His books are absorbing, complex, and vivid, great to read when you're away and in need of another world to be in for a while.
I thought this would be a good way to increase a catch rate on books and a fun way to keep military personnel overseas involved at home.
If you're from the DFW area, the list and drop off points can be found at:

Hope these get there by Thanksgiving -- along with them are some occasion cards and stationery supplies. Two of My Ladies came along with us (my husband and our dog and me) to do their part. This is Emily at Blue Haven.
