An interesting novel that argues convincingly that there is a law of nature, the peacekeeping law, that keeps predators from exterminating their prey, and that humankind is not living according to this law, and that the penalty is extinction. This book is almost a Liff, but still I recommend it highly. It gives a carefull analysis of the "condition humaine", and it seems to recognize that one person's effort is all that is required of -and, indeed, allowed to- us. My main negative point is that still there is an implicit pessimism that this might not be enough. If taken seriously, this pessimism could make us frustrated with the small influence that each of us has (either way), or, worse, might make us into eco-fundamentalists.

Came to me with YAEB - Yet Another English Bookbox. Might go on the next round of this box too, if not requested by someone before.
I've read into this book, kinda liked it somehow, and though the following review is not exactly mine: "From now on I will divide the books I have read into two cathegories - the ones I read before Ishmael and those read after." Jim Britell, Whole Earth Review.
...I just wonder if someone will say that of "Wild Animus"...
