I've been picking up L.M. Montgomery books whenever I find them for my personal collection, but I keep forgetting what I have and don't have. I ended up with an extra copy of this one.

From the back cover:
Patricia Gardiner loved Silver Bush more than anything else in the world. She was born and raised in the beautiful old-fashioned house on Prince Edward Island, "where things always seemed the same" and good things never changed. But things do change at Silver Bush - from her first day at school to the arrival of her new baby sister, from her aunt's joyous wedding to her own first romance. Through it all, Pat shares her experiences with her beloved friends and discovers the one thing that truly never changes: the beauty and peace she will always find at Silver Bush - the house that remembers her whole life.

Release planned for Friday, November 14, 2003 at Mailed to another BookCrosser in College Station, Texas USA.

I´ve already received the book last Friday but haven´t got the possibilty to make this entry.

Thanks a lot for sending me this nice and entertaining book!

I catched a cold and now the book is "my companion" in lying in the bed and getting well. It is a really entertaining read!

Just got this one on the mail - thanks a million blacksheeps99 (and thanks also karendawn for registering it in the 1st place)!! I've recently discovered L. M. Montgomery's books - the Anne of Green Gables series - so I'm really curious to read all of her books :) However, at the moment I have a lot to read, so it may take me a little while to get to it, but not too long ;) I'll surely share it with some BC friends here in Lisbon who I know also love L. M. Montgomery :) Thanks again!!

Since Mady has got a lot on her hands, she passed the book to another L. M. Montgomery fan while she deals with her TBR mountain...

For a moment there I got really scared! I finished the book and thought "There better be a sequel!!", and a google search rested my poor sentimental heart. There was one, called "Mistress Pat", there is hope yet.
I'm sorry for ever doubting L.M. Montgomery's touch for making us fall in love with her characters and not desapoint us.

Sorry I forgot to make the journal entry when I received this book - it was passed to me on Jan. 11th during a fantastic BC dinner :-)
I needed some comfort reading this last week, and the first book I grabbed was this one. I'm a great fan of the "Anne" series, and was almost sure this book would be quite as enjoyable.
I loved this story of Pat and her Silver Bush house - a very sweet book and just what I needed for distraction ...
Thanks mady for sharing this with us :-)

This book found its way into my hands since it seems most other BCs have too much to read right now. Hope to be able to read it soon!

Another wonderful character created by L. M. Montgomery. Pat is just too sweet, she has her flaws though she can't quite be as clumsy as Anne, she loves everything so fiercely and she's always so certain of her ideas, that I had too much fun seeing her change them every time. This is definitely a comfort read!
I really wanted to know what happens next in Pat's life, so thanks to booknhand I now have the sequel, Mistress Pat. :o)

The book is back with me, hopefully to be read soon :) More news then.

Finished it this morning.
I've found Pat a quite lovable character even if with some flaws, but after all that's only human! :)
Thanks for sharing! :) It's already in BlossomU's hands.

I got yesterday at this fabulous BC meeting, a visit to the backstage of an 18th century library ( I found myself with a new found unfortunate love for 16th century books though, not good). I love some of LM Montgomery´s novels and am looking forward to reading this one. It might take me a couple of months to get this moving again, I got some other more urgent TBRs. Thanks everybody particularly karendawn!

LM Mongtomery´s books fit totally the definition of comfort read - and with autumn coming up, it was an irresistible read to read in bed with a cup of tea nearby. Its magic totally worked and while reading it I was in Prince Edward Island and identifying a lot with Pat loving fiercely and not wanting what she loves to change ( particularly bad in modern days with new houses and roads spring up in places one loved). Perhaps I got a few quibbles with it, it is very much a product of its time and society which for all the charm and beauty would probably feel very constrictive to us, and ok, Judy´s speeches are a bit much for any character, though I am biased by non standard english not being that easy for me to read. Charming!

Book is now available, I will take it to a BC meeting thursday to see if there are any new readers for it.
