This story is about Liz Barwick, battered wife of a famous pro football player. She leaves and goes to a island off the coast of Georgia to find solace. She discovers there is no place to hide.

A good fast read. A famous football player is doing drugs to beef up his frame and he is also become a brutal wife beater. When his wife ends up in the hospital after a vicious beating, she files for divorce and goes into hiding. He will do anything to find her and kill her. After a series of killings that are linked to her, one detective believes her story that her ex-husband is the killer and goes about trying to prove his guilt. Will he be in time to save her?
Most of the story is set on an island paradise off the Georgia coast.
