Bad Monkeys: A Novel (P.S.)

I wanted to love this more than I did. I quite adored Ruff's "Set This House in Order," but Bad Monkeys felt more like reading a screenplay rather than a novel. Some interesting ideas. Actually, I quite enjoyed the first half or 2/3 but the final section just lost me. My "willing suspension of disbelief" as the audience was punctured when things got too ridiculous. Well, not too ridiculous, just that the shift in tone and ability didn't fit the first 2/3 of the novel. And the ending felt forced and very abrupt. Oh well. I didn't have this cover; instead a gorgeous silky heavier yellow with just one Mandrill face on the front. That made it a pleasure to read, tactile-ly, at least. I mean, i don't regret reading it, but not sure I'd rush out and recommend it to others, either.
