found today at the Willamette Coffee shop. Looks like a lazy Sunday morning read with Noah's bagels and cream cheese and a cat or two. What's not to like about a funny funny guy!

You know, I absolutely adore Steve Martin. Having said that, this book really had me scratching my head and pondering the impermanent nature of humor...like how something that was hysterically funny at work isn't funny when you relate it to your best friend on the phone the next day and how a movie that was funny in 1979 isn't all that funny in 2003. I thought that about Young Frankenstein. And I certainly think that about this collection from 1977......I guess you had to be there..and actually I was..and it was...but it ain't anymore.

However, I do appreciate the blast from the past...thanks fomalhaut for sharing!
