Found in Millbrook Charity Shop seems like its been there before, its an interesting book to read.
Mainly because all you hear is about the holocaust and the Germans who were anti-Jewish and for the people who supported what hitler did to the Jews and other people caught up on the wrong Side of the fence and the nazi party
This book shows us about the people who were against hitler like the communists and the struggles normal people had in Germany during the war

The thread continues....about 2 weeks ago Donfiction and I watched "The Book Thief" movie. We really enjoyed it and right after, I saw the title on the Forums and joined a Bookray. Now "The Book Thief" has landed in my mailbox - in just 5 days from the UK! We really enjoyed the film, but based on how thick the paperback is - there's lots more to the story. Thanks for sending, Abi-Gibby. (PS: I WISH we had World Book Night here in Canada!)
Time to send this Bookray Book to peace-filled (also a Canadian).
About "The Book Thief": I found it to be an unusual, engaging read - a real page-turner. Zusak has such an interesting writing style - he doesn't use typical metaphors where something is "like" or "seems to be". Where you might say, "Ash was raining down like snow after the bomb", instead, he writes something like, "It was snowing everywhere" - no mention of ash, but you KNOW what is happening. Refreshing and it creates such a strong image in your head.
A note about World Book Night: I have to admit, I am so jealous that people in the UK have this fantastic event. I wish we had it here, but our "BBC Equivalent" (The CBC) is going through a $450 million budget cut, and the publishing industry here is small and under siege. That said, we're having a meetup this Sunday in Toronto, and everyone there is a BIG SUPPORTER OF BOOKS & BOOKCROSSING!
