This is one of the best books I read as a child. It's an absolutely heartbreaking story about three animals who seek out their owners over a 250-mile journey. Really nice illustrations by Carl Burger as well.

Getting caught up on registering books. This one is going to Mount TBR - I'll write a proper journal entry once its been read!

It was so nice to read this again! It's been close to 20 years since I last read this story, and it made a completely different impression the second time around. Being a cat owner, and dog afficianado, I really appreciated this author's talent for writing about pets. I found myself alternately laughing, sniffling, and just plain melting at her descriptions.
I've seen the recent Disney adaptation of The Incredible Journey several times, and it was fun to compare the book to the movie. Now I really want to rummage up a copy of the original 1960's(?)Disney adaptation and compare notes.

I started it with Emma, but she lost interest. It'll probably sit here a bit longer and we'll see if she wants to read it herself later.

I got this book through a controlled release for my daughter many years ago. She is now an adult, and visited me last weekend. She said it was OK to release it. I hope another animal-loving young person gets it.
