A Phoebe Siegel mystery...
I got this book from The Book Thing in Baltimore. I collect books for my Mom who is 88 years old and pretty much housebound these days. Mysteries are her favorites so I keep her stocked from as many sources as I can.
Now that she's read this one, I will donate it to an organization called "BIG - Books for International Goodwill" run by the Rotary Club in Annapolis. They collect used books, overstock, etc., send the textbooks overseas and send books to men and women in the armed forces who request something to read. Then once a quarter, they open their warehouse to the public and sell the leftovers to raise money to support their efforts. Fill a grocery bag with books for $20 is a great deal.
The Book Thing stamps their books "Not for Resale"
which is a good thing to keep the bad guys from opening their own businesses but a bad thing for places like BIG who use book sale income to fund charities. So I hope The Book Thing won't mind that I tore off the half of the front sheet with their stamp so this book can do some good as it recycles.
Recycle date: 9/12/04.
