Even if you don't know much about mountaineering, and have to read in between the terminology, there's no mistaking the power of this story. Just looking at the map at the front of the book and trying to imagine the distance he had to drag himself in those conditions... mind-blowing. Simpson does a good job of describing how it felt for him, and for Simon, to go through this.
