3 journalers for this copy...

I read this a long time ago, and I'm thinking I should read it again before releasing it. But we'll see. If memory serves me correctly this was fairly well written and had an interesting plot and characters.
ADDENDUM (11/22/03): Okay, I was all ready to pack up this book to send to the person who accepted it on bookrelay when I absentmindedly opened up a random page and started to read. Then I read it to the end. At that point there was only one thing to do, which was start at the beginning and read to the point I had originally started from. This was actually quite and interesting way of reading it, because it made the change in Macon all the more obvious. He is a different man at the end of the book than the beginning.
Its been about 10 years since I last read this book and I've gotten a lot of life experience since then so a lot of the messages that didn't get through to me before got through this time. I think one of the things that really caught me in this reading was the thought that you can love someone and not like the person you are when you are with them. That is really very true, and has given me a lot to think about.
I'll now happily send this book on Monday. The wasn't any delay because of me reading it (I think).

Offered on bookrelay. Note: book is in what I would consider "shaggy" condition. If this is a problem, or you'd rather not wild release a book in that condition then this is to let you know.
From back of book:
Meet Macon Leary -- a travel writer who hates both travel and strangeness. Grounded by loneliness, comfort and a somewhat odd domestic life, Macon is about to embark on a surprising new journey. It's called love -- and it arrives in the unlikely shape of a fuzzy-haired dog-obidience trainer who promises to turn the Accidental Tourist into a happy traveler...

Journal Entry 4 by solimano at Caffè delle Giubbe Rosse, Pza. Repubblica in Firenze, Toscana Italy on Monday, December 15, 2003
Release planned for Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at Caffè delle Giubbe Rosse in Firenze, Toscana Italy.
At the Florentine meet up.

Collected by me, of course, as the only Brit Bookcrosser who goes to the Meetups! Yet again, Solimano keeps me in my English literature! But my Italian reading is improving thanks to Bookcrossing! My problem is I simply cannot remember if I have read this or not.... but whatever, I shall read again or for the first time. Collected at our Christmas Meetup - books and chocolate and good company - could anyone ask for more?

By page 200 it had got better.... whilst the rest of the reading world may have loved this book. I did not.... in fact if it was not for the character of the dog I would have stuck to my "page 50/page 28" rule....
Disappointing.
The good news... to be released in India.... I MAKE my books travel!
