Picked up at the Leeds meetup, not really read much Stephen king so looking forward to this.
Honestly probably a very good book just too miserable for me! Been stuck a third way through for ages because I just can't motivate myself to read on. Time to move the book on.

Horror is not my favourite genre as a rule, but this is a very domestic sort of horror, and all the more chilling for not involving giant ants or evil spirits.
It does, however, involve a deranged serial killer in the Harold Shipman vein, an axe, a sit-on lawnmower, and an electric carving knife. It's pretty horrible and you have to wonder how much punishment of that sort a man would really be able to take, but just as Paul Sheldon wants to get to the end of his story one way or another, so does the reader of Misery...
