I am a giver for World Book Night 23.04.12 and have picked up this book from Killingworth Library, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

My friend didn't seem overly keen to take this book but agreed to try and read it

As previously stated my friend wasn't too keen and she brought this book when were on holiday together in June 2012 and left it at the apartment. It has been read by at least one person (judging by the state of the cover) My hubby has a copy too and I have been meaning to read this for my own personal challenge of reading all the WBN books. As this is still "on the shelf" I will read next in SIY#26 challenge and then re-release.

Ooo Annie still gives me the creeps! After seeing the film at least twice reading the book was "cockadoodie " breeze :)

Book has arrived well, thank you so much! I have watched many Stephen King movies, but it is going to be my first book.

This was my first Stephen King book and what a great read! I have watched many of his film adaptations, but I never thought the book could be equally scary.

After finishing his last novel, Paul Sheldon gets drunk and has a car accident in the middle of nowhere. He wakes up in a strange house, with both legs broken and soon meets his rescuer, Annie Wilkes, who says she’s his number one fan. Slowly, Sheldon finds out that Annie suffers from manic-depression and she hates it when things don´t go as she planned. The ending of Sheldon’s last book in the Misery series was not to her liking, so she asks him to write a new book… or else he will suffer.

Stephen King really knows how to create suspense. After we find out that Annie is just a bit too crazy, we are left guessing what sadistic punishment she will be planning next… And will Paul survive it. The gore details are very vivid and not recommended for those with sensitive stomachs.

I sometimes found Paul’s inner dialogues a bit tiring, but when Annie appeared on scene, everything got back on track.
