Again one of my Charity Shop finds great for listening to when I am in the kitchen.
I have been a great fan of John Morimer's Rumpole for years so I really enjoyed this especially since it was read by the Author.
I have been a great fan of John Morimer's Rumpole for years so I really enjoyed this especially since it was read by the Author.
The comic, courageous, and corpulent Horace Rumpole reenters the fray in these seven fresh and funny stories in which the “great defender of muddled and sinful humanity” triumphs over the forces of prejudice and mean-mindedness while he tiptoes precariously through the domestic territory of his wife, Hilda—She Who Must Be Obeyed! With his passion for poetry, and a nose equally sensitive to the whiff of wrongdoing and the bouquet of a Château Thames Embankment, the lovable and disheveled Rumpole “is at his rumpled best”.
Received this from smurphie in the shoebox of audiobooks she sent me.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Couldn't really get into this, John Mortimer's voice isn't very engaging and usually my mind started wandering elsewhere when listening to this. By the end of the book, I couldn't really tell you what happened or how it ended was right for the story or not. Just felt lost and confused and glad it was over.

It has been a rough year for me, health wise, and keeping on top of Bookcrossing has had to take a backseat. I'm finally catching up with journaling. Thanks so much for sending me this audiobook, Ythan. Sorry it has taken me this long.
