I've just received this bookbox today, and had a quick look through. Don't yet know all the books I'm removing, but I know I want this one. Thanks Bookstogive!

This book is good for reading a few pages at a time. To me, her irreverent tone became annoying after a while. But these 1-2 page snippets on famous, infamous, and little known women of ancient times are easy to read a few at a time. Some of the uppity women included are Cleopatra (Seven), Esther, Hatshepsut, Nefertiti, and Boudicca, and many others less well known. They're all here, from harlots to queens (sometimes in the same person), from orators to artisans, this makes for interesting reading of ancient times, from Egypt to Rome, and from Macedonia to Greece.
