I just finished reading this book this week, and was blown away. At first, for some reason, I did not notice the prose, then I began to pay attention to the wonderful, rich way this book is written. Lots of good words and description. Characters described sparingly, and yet you feel you know them. Love and loss and challenge and hardship. Highly recommended.

Gave to my mother, who is interested in reading it now that I've raved so much about it.
