I really liked this book, as I do all of Maeve Binchy's other novels. This one is a really short and easy read.

This book was a fun read and it was great to read a book written by Maeve Binchy which I haven't done in a long time. Once I started reading, I didn't want to stop. That wasn't a problem because it is a slim book.

I received this book in the mail today from "laurelar" in Lilburn, Georgia. I chose it from the General Literature VBB organized by "bookstogive." I've loved all of Maeve Binchy's books, and it seems that this will not be an exception! Thank you, everyone!
December 4, 2016: A quick and easy read, very pleasant. Maeve Binchy's characters always spoke great truths, and her characters in this book are no different!
Guess what? I had rec'd this book through Bookstogive's General Literature VBB, and I'm putting it back in for someone else to enjoy during my turn in Round 16.

Reserving for the General Literature VBB.
Description from Amazon:
"A fantastic Maeve Binchy - written specially for the World Book Day Quick Reads promotion. Dee loves her children very much, but now they are all grown up, shouldn't they leave home? Rosie moved out when she got married, but it didn't work out, so now she is back with her parents. Helen is a teacher, and doesn't earn enough for a place of her own. Anthony writes songs, and is just waiting for the day when someone will pay him for them. Until then, all three are happy at home. It doesn't cost them anything, and surely their parents like having a full house? When a crisis occurs, Dee decides things have to change for the whole family...whether they like it or not."

I see this is a well traveled book. The statement on the front cover really told the story, "Sometimes the people you love most are the hardest to live with".
Dee and Liam should be empty nesters but all three of their children live at home and don't contribute anything (not money, not food, not cooking, not washing clothes, not ironing, not anything). When Liam loses his job and they can no longer afford to support these freeloading children, Dee finally takes charge and is determined to change these lazy grown-up children into responsible adults. A good fast read.
