As I have been to Guernsey myself I was really looking forward to reading this. It is set during the German occupation of the Island in WWII and shines a light on the moral choices at a time like that. Very well written and until the end the reader is not sure what really happened. The writer seems to be a bit obsessed with sex though as I had already noticed when I read "Anthem"...
