Set against the backdrop of the years before and during the Nigeria-Biafra war in the late 60's, Half of a Yellow Sun is about the lives of two sisters (Olanna and Kainene), their family, lovers and their houseboys. The book concentrates mainly on theri relationships with each other and the effect the war has on them. Just a brilliant book which is well written and paced beautifully.
