The Hollow Hills
4 journalers for this copy...
The copy I have is a paperback published by Fawcett Crest in 1973. I was unable to find a ISBN number but its AIN number is B000NO7CUY. The book shows some tanning but it's in good readable condition.
Thnak you for the books! Was very happy to recive them all! Sounds like something I will enjoy :)
This was a very slow burner, I liked it but I also feel like I've been reading it FOREVER! You get lots of character building with Merlin and most of the story is taken up with deciding where Arthur is going to grow up. The book doesn't really hit its stride, in a 'Can't put it down sense' until we get to the final part. I only really know the basics about King Arthur, mainly from watching Disney's 'A Swords In The Stone'. And I had a hard time trying to picture Merlin as a young man. This is the start of a series and I'm not going to actively look out for the second one but I would read it, if it happened to come my way. Would also be interested in reading more historical fiction about Arthur, just ones with a better pace.

Thank you very much for this fabulous package. And yes, I do like the chocolate and so does Mrs D!
I also love anything "Arthur", so this looks good.

Oh Redfox5! A thousand apologies! I could have sworn that I'd journaled this and I just realised I hadn't done the job as I was preparing to do release notes.
Anyway, I did enjoy it. I love anything Arthur related. You're right to say that it was a hit of a slow burner, but it was definitely a worthwhile read, and I would definitely have a go at more Mary Stewart books. After a few running repairs it will be released in York tomorrow.

Thank you Deltic. Merry Christmas

I like Authurian novels & Mary Stewart writes the best because she sets them in the Dark Ages.
This book was in a poor state so I replaced it with a 2012 copy.
