A monologue of vanity descending to an understanding of hypocrisy which encompasses the listener (and reader). Hypnotic - I read it in one session (not difficult as it's only 108 pages). Recommended, but I warn you - you'll feel no sympathy for Clamence.

I quite enjoyed it - but it was obvious that it was translated from another language. Perhaps it lost something in the translation??
