A debut thriller by Tana French and winner of several awards including best first award by a new American author.

Three children leave their house to play in the woods of a Dublin neighborhood. When their mother's call goes unanswered the police come only to find one child alive with blood filled sneakers, and no ability to give details about he last two hours. Twelve years later, the boy has grown up to be a detective, and must face his past when a young girl is found murdered in the same woods.

I'm not usually much of a mystery fan, but I was completely engrossed in this book. The characters are interesting, and the story moves along at a great pace.

I am currently reading this book. I am on chapter five and loving it so far. However, a coworker gave me another copy so I will be setting this copy free and finishing the book with her copy.

edited: I absolutely loved it. Although it took me a long time to read, and I got mad at Rob about two thirds of the way through the book. It did keep me guessing and interested the whole story.
