Received via bookmooch - I believe this one is a classic.
I didn't really know what to expect, given the title, but this is a delightful story. The ex-soldier (well, officer) at loose ends falls into an adventure, and (of course) meets romance along the way. I read it on a journey and it was a perfect travelling companion.
