Description from book's back cover:
'Dear Francie, My boyfriend left me for my best friend a year ago and now he wants me to come to counselling with him to help him get over the guilt. What do you think?' Of course once Francie would have thought it was a good idea. Two people sitting down like adults and resolving their conflict, moving on, being happy. But not now. She typed: Take to his car with a hammer and tell him the only place you'll go with him is to a panel beater.' Francie writes the Seriously Single column for the Sunday Press. Nick - the man she thought she'd spend the rest of her life with - has dumped her for an older woman. To say that Francie is annoyed would be a serious understatement. Struggling to deal with the bleak landscape of her new life, Francie signs up for therapy and moves into a shared household with a trio of supposedly swingin' singles. But Francie has a secret. A dirty little secret of nasty revenge. Her nightmare is that one day all will be revealed. That couldn't happen ... could it? A fast, poignant and funny novel about life, love and a shiny, sharp pair of scissors."
=============================
My Review After Reading:

Characterization: The characterization is neither remarkable nor particularly lacking.

Setting: Set in Australia, the novel contains some occasional references to the cities and suburbs.

Plot: “Francie has a secret.”

Description: The novel, apart from sexual references, does not contain much in the way of description.

Language: As always this reflects my opinion only, so on the plus side, the novel utilizes a diverse set of verbs, but on the negative side, there is some “R-rated” language.

Point-of-view: I am unsure as to whether the differences in the point-of-view are a reflection of where the book was written or a writing flaw, but the narration seems “off” or inconsistent in places.

Prequel/Sequel/Etc:
This novel appears to be a stand-alone book.

Positives: The book breaks the standard “chick-lit” mold in several ways, but the major difference is that the plot is one of the few to deal with modern romantic revenge.

Negatives: The book contains a plethora of crass sex scenes and at least 30 to 50 pages of unnecessary repetition, including an entire counseling session that ought to have been omitted.

Overall: I enjoyed a few of the ideas (even though that may not resonate with all readers), but it was an struggle to read through some of the content.
