This is maybe one of the greatest adventure stories ever told. The four central characters became friends that, at the end of the book I was sorry to leave. D'Artagnan is the young man who's dream it is to be a Musketeer, and this is the story of how that dream comes true. Sword fights and chases on horseback are intertwined with the intrigue of the French court and the sometimes hilarious adventures of D'Artagnan and the three Musketeers.
