The Sanctuary Sparrow

This slightly-battered paperback (earlier edition with different cover than shown) has been on my keeper shelves for quite some time now, and while I loved the series I think it's time this one went traveling.
This story features a young minstrel who takes sanctuary at the abbey, and Cadfael steps in to try and solve the crime that the boy's been (falsely, he claims) accused of. As is common in this series, there's a very sweet romance (with obstacles to overcome) and a bittersweet one as well, with scenes both touching and dramatic.
[This was the inspiration for one of the mini-series episodes of the Cadfael series, which starred Derek Jacobi and was quite enjoyable. And here's the TV Tropes page for the series, which may be of interest.]

I'm adding this book to k00kaburra's Medieval/Renaissance bookbox, which will be on its way to the next stop, ravencat in NY, soon. Hope someone enjoys the book!
