Book purchased from Brotherhood Books for World Book Night release.
From back cover:
"Jack is five, and excited about his birthday. He lives with his Ma in Room, which has a locked door and a skylight, and measures eleven feet by eleven feet. He loves watching TV, and the cartoon characters he calls friends, but he knows that nothing he sees on screen is truly real - only him, Ma and the things in Room. Until the day Ma admits that there's a world outside . . .
Told in Jack's voice, 'Room' is the story of a mother and son whose love lets them survive the impossible. Unsentimental and sometimes funny, devastating yet uplifting, 'Room' is a novel Like no other."
FYI: Brotherhood Books.

Found this book years ago.
Took me a while to get around to reading it. It was well written but im not sure i enjoyed it, due to the disturbing nature of the story.
The story is written from the child's perspective which is what distinguishes this book for a normal horror or mystery story... But there were parts I found down right squeamish. Like the child sucking on the tooth. I know thats not the most important part of the narrative but for some reason i found it the most off putting.
Given the events of the last decade- so many women escaping after being held as sexual prisoners for years it's a relevant story to todays society.
