A book of modern fairy tales - its so long since I read it that I can't say more than that.
I have given this in a book swap to Kittiwake, so maybe she will be able to say more about this one.

Book swapped with Kittiwake.
Twenty modern stories based on or inspired by fairy tales, together with interesting introductions by the editors on Fairy Tales & Fantasy and Fairy Tales & Horror. The only story I'd read before was Neil Gaiman's "Troll Bridge", but they were a varied lot, some with fantasy settings and some set in the real world, while in others dreams are the threshold to faerie. Very enjoyable.
Having made a trip to the East Midlands this book is now heading back to London, to visit LisaJane.
Received from Kittiwake - thank you! I'm really looking forward to reading this.
This was a re-read for me, unfortunately I can't remember which stories impressed me the most when I first read it. Neil Gaiman and Charles de Lint are always wonderful. I also found Patricia McKillip's version of The Snow Queen to be evocative, very well written - I think the best fantasy stories have that quality of dream.

I love retellings of fairy tales. I begged and begged Hexa for the book. Besides, there's a story by Neil Gaiman in here.:)
Thanks for the great book!
