It's been a long while since I read this so I can't write a detailed review... I remember I liked it a lot less than the other Greene novels I've read. I think it was the religious views in it I found really hard to relate to - thereby making it hard to follow the decisions and motivations of the characters. I hope its next readers will enjoy it more than I did.

Finally got around reading this and enjoyed this a lot. I like the way the story is told and the intensity of the characters. The background of the London during the Blitz is fitting to precariousness of the affair.
