I've read and heard mixed reviews about this book which of course made me want to read it :)
I quite enjoyed it. I found the writing to be pretty and engaging. the story - to me- is like a funky amalgamation of The Giver meets Logan's Run.
Good book and I will read the sequel when it comes out this November.

Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate . . . until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.
The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
What a great book! It started out and I was a little unsure and thought it might be just another teen book with a love triangle but then my opinion changed. A great look at a brain washed girl who realizes that her "perfect" world may not be as great as she originally thought. I will have to track down the next in the series. Thanks so much for sharing this with me!
I am taking this to the Calgary "Wonderful World of Colour" BookCrossing meetup. This book is about a drab society and the girl in it who wants to wear some colour. If no one takes it home, it will be left on the shelf.
Are you in the Calgary area and interested in meeting up with other Calgary BookCrossers? Please check out our facebook group, "BookCrossing Calgary" for details on how. Meeting are held on the second Saturday of every month at the Joshua Tree Cafe starting at 11am. New Crossers are always welcome.

I guess I am too far from my angst ridden teen-age years to really understand the fixation on dystopian fiction.
While it is not really my genre, I did find the book well written and provoked a lot of thought about the privileges we have in making choices - good or bad ones.

Releasing at the June meet-up of Calgary BookCrossers, held at the Joshua Tree Café. Hope this book will go home with a new reader.
I am a week late, but I got this at the June meeting! My pile is getting dangerous.
Mom was chosing which one to take on vacation and chose maisie dobbs instead so I got to read this book while she was away. I've been considering picking it up at the store for months now, and I'm glad I got a chance to read it - worth the wait!
I enjoyed this book. interesting story line and characters. Good book to read while under stress. Looking forward to the next one.
Taking this to the March meet up at Joshua Tree Cafe to be picked up or left on the bookshelf.
Picked this up at the March bookcrossing meeting.
I enjoyed the book. A bit like the hunger games without the violence and dire consequences. Seems the future is not what it's cracked up to be.
