My second book by Cormac McCarthy & still haven't warmed to his writing style... I keep feeling I should like his work more but just cannot really get into his way of writing.... too much dialog for me & the plots just never seem to 'flow'.
This one I found especially annoying / difficult as he has huge chunks of dialog written in Spanish and as I don't speak Spanish it just annoyed me...
Also 'cowboy novels' are not really my cup of tea.
I did enjoy the way he seemed to be showing how the American West of old is changing and I did feel that he had a great love & undertanding of horses....
Surely this man who is hailed as one of the best writers in America at the moment must have written something I can really say I LIKE !!!!.
At least can say have read another 1001 book though.....

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Posted today & heading 'across the pond' to The Netherlands...
The book arrived earlier this week. I'm curently reading another ray, but this one is next on the list.
I enjoyed reading the book. It captured me and I had trouble putting it aside sometimes. True, there is some Spanish in the book and I only have a very rudementary understanding of Spanish, but most of what was said in Spanish was translated into English or you could understand what was said in Spanish by the english continuation of the story afterward. So the Spanish didn't bother me.
I'll pass it on to the next one as soon as I get the chance to go to the potoffice.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
The book is on it's way to the next reader.
The book arrived today. I have many ring ahead of this.
I've been so busy with everything that I didn't have time to read this book. I mailed this forward today.
I received this book earlier this week. I wish I would have known lunatum had not yet had a chance to read this as I also have quite a few books ahead of it to read. I will do my best to get through it as quickly as possible. If no one else has signed up by then perhaps I can send it back to lunatum to have a chance to read it if ok with grovalskii.
Finally finished this book and really enjoyed it. Since it looks like I'm last I'll try and find a good way to keep it moving. Thanks for the chance to read this!
Edited 9/17/12: Added to Gen Lit VBB in hopes of keeping this moving.
