The only Italian detective stories I've tried are the Donna Leons, but she is actually an American living in Venice, so perhaps she does not count. Waiting to be read.
Montalbano had a long wait, but I'm currently reading this for the European Secret Santa RABCK. My buddy says she likes to read either historical novels or mysteries.
Finns are seldom mentioned in books by foreign writers, others than Swedes, but Alvar Aalto's name came up during the investigations. A small world, his daughter is my godmother.
This was better than the one other Montalbano I've read. A bit slow in the middle, but a surprising end. Ready to leave from my part, let's see how long it will take with our post strike.
Left last month to sunny Portugal as part of the Secret Santa package.

I’m a bit picky with crime fiction and if the detective is not to my liking, it spoils the book. Sorry Montalbano, you’re not my type!
