The Things They Carried

It's funny, disgusting and inspirational. This was the first war novel I've ever read that makes dissappointing and controversial war experiences funny. However, it does not make fun of those gruesome moments to an extent of narcisticism. It actually leads the reader into seeing a sad P.O.V. of these war experiences towards the end, which proves this novel's ability to have inspirations. And there was a reason I said war (not wars).
