I'm on a Steinbeck kick so I am glad to have this book to read - the Nobel Prize winner! Thanks for helping with my obsession Mandali.
Updated 23 Nov:
This was a 'great' reading experience. A couple of times I almost got irritated with the depth of description for a character or circumstance but told myself to back off!
I think the 'rat race' get everything done in a nano-second mentality was the culprit but I did manage to squash it. It was a sincere pleasure to wallow in the depth of character that Steinbeck developed.
Volume will continue its journey to shazsnod - enjoy!

On a very lucky day I opened my mailbox and got not one, but 2 great books.
This is one I have been wanting to read for some time(BO~before Oprah!) and will make sure I can 'wallow' in it for hours upon hours at a time.
Thanks for the small gift too Rutchmather and be assured that since I've never seen one, I will keep as mine and pass on something else to the next reader. Can't wait to be absorbed by this classic!!
