Journal Entry 4 by elstaplador at Woking, Surrey United Kingdom on Sunday, November 6, 2011
This is a surprise book in the BookCrossing ABC roundabout (I started off the G round with 'Gods Behaving Badly' and we're working up the alphabet). I could have done without another modern crime thriller, having overdosed spectacularly over the past few weeks, but that says more about me than it does about the book, so let's leave that aside.

This is set in a New Orleans radio station, where the star turn, a psychologist who hosts a late-night phone-in show, is receiving phone calls from a mystery man. I felt that the setting was evocatively described, and the mystery was reasonably interesting; however, some of the gender politics made me roll my eyes a bit (a girl ends up dead because she is 'too ambitious', hmm, hmm) and what with that and them glazing over in the sex scenes they got rather over-exercised.

Journal Entry 7 by mafarrimond at Hawarden, Wales United Kingdom on Wednesday, November 30, 2011
The first of Lisa Jackson's books I have read. I do enjoy murder mysteries! I have visited and loved New Orleans so loved the descriptions of the area that I recognised from my visit.

The book was a little predictable in parts but overall, I enjoyed it. Thanks for introducing me to this author.

Off to disneyfreaksam for the ABC ring.

Thanks for sending. I'm really looking forward to read this book. Sounds like a book I will like :)

Journal Entry 13 by Snowboarderin at Hückeswagen, Nordrhein-Westfalen Germany on Monday, March 12, 2012
It wasn't a bad thriller but I didn't like the end. All the time it seems like the end will be the climax - when Sam meets the killer and so on- but then it was a little bit unspectacular.

Journal Entry 19 by Boekentrol at Leeuwarden, Fryslân (Friesland) Netherlands on Sunday, April 8, 2012
I like to read a good thriller, but this one left me a bit disappointed.

The thriller part of is was okay: page-turning in the beginning. The middle part was a bit dready: a lot of repetitions of what happened in the past to Annie and Sam's role in that. I think that could have been lessened.
And the end was, imho not so spectacular. A bit predicatable, just like the thriller-series / crime series I watch on TV: cavalry arrives just in time, the things going on are spotted by just the right person.

What I could have done without completely is the Harlequin part of the book. For me it did not add anything to the story, the thriller didn't get better with it.

This was my first bok with this author and, if other books by her are written with the same recipe, I don't think I'll read one again.

Thanks for sharing, trik. I did have a nice couple of hours with this book :-)

Travelling to abibaigalit in Israel the the next member of the roundabout. I know, this is too early to get to you. But since I do not need to read it, thought I will put it in the mail together with the "G" book as I can send both books for the postage of 1. So just take your time and read this next month if you like.

Well thanks for the books. I went today to the post office to get them and also other packets from other bookcrossers.
I will start to read both books that you send Into-the-Blue and pass them together to ZAS.

==========
Hot Blooded is a good book by Lisa Jackson, although the plot was a little slow in getting into the investigation. However, the book still kept my interests because I wanted to find out if the killer was someone who the main character knows or just a random person. It wasn't a disappointment.

I liked this. I kept changing my mind about who the murderer was. Unlike others I wasn't disappointed in the ending but I suppose it just tied up loose ends and left it open for another Bentz and Montoya book (I don't know if there is, just surmising).

I always enjoy thrillers. This was a book I was able to read over a period of time because 1: trik kindly agreed to me keeping this book to pass on via bookcrossing
2. I sort of knew the story, think I have seen a film like it before which allowed me to remember where I was up to fairly easily
