I'm really curious about this Babylon series. I think it might just be my cup of tea. :)

Rrrooooaaaaaarrrrr... This was just sooooo funny! It was a very entertaining read and I recommend it to anyone who likes or knows the pop culture.

There were sections that explained how things work in UK pop scene, which I didn't all necessarily believe but admit that there's probably a hint of truth. I loved the name dropping and the stories of famous ones, finally the money spent on subscibing pop mag Smash Hits in late 90's was worth it as I knew most of the mentioned artists. Have a confession to make: I was huge on boy bands all 90's - well, ok, it began with New Kids On The Block and ended with 'N Sync...

I'm not going to dig any deeper thoughts or deeper meanings as there wasn't, this was just pure entertainment.

Brought this home from the bc-meet in Helsinki, can't wait to find out why some bands make it and some don't and how they sell it all to us.

This is the first babylon book I've read and I was slightly disappointed. I found the story of the fictional boy band a bit boring and I'm not that interested in the sex and drugs part of rock and roll. I did find myself perking up every time we got to the hard facts and figures of the music industry. It's a hard and cynical business.
