This copy purchased yesterday from the Animal Aid op-shop Sourh Croydon, for local or themed release.
From back cover:
"'Angela's Ashes' is Frank McCourt's sad, funny, bittersweet memoir of growing up in New York in the 30s and in Ireland in the 40s. It is a story of extreme hardship and suffering, in Brooklyn tenements and Limerick slums - too many children, too little money, his mother Angela barely coping as his father Malachy's drinking bouts constantly brought the family to the brink of disaster. It is a story of courage and survival against apparently over-whelming odds."
FYI: Angela's Ashes - IMDb.

This book was in CafeZingers about 2 weeks ago left with the newspapers and magazines. I picked it up and thought "what a great idea" travelling books! I have enjoyed it a great deal. Luck there is no camera in the book as I read most of it in the bath. Very relaxing, a bit sad too. I've told my kids all about it, to try to remind them how lucky we are today. Thanks you for the privelegde! I will drop it somewhere in Geelong Monday. It is still in excellent condition.
