WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Wow, I feel like I need a bath in a tub of sanitizer. All this talk of scary virus' that multiply and change and cause horrible dealth. I listened to this on a book on tape and I think that made it scarier as there was music and I was in a car full of potential virus. It was interesting to learn about these true stories. I think hollywood has made this worse as I kept thinking worst case scenerios and then things worked out ok. Thanks for sharing this with me, it was a fast pace novel that sucked me in.
I am taking this to Calgary's "Wonderful World of Colour" themed meeting. A book full of colourful virus! If no one takes it home, it will be left on the shelf.

Picked up at the May Calgary Book Crossing Meeting.
Brilliant book about emerging filoviruses. The writing is a fantastic balance of interviews facts and storytelling.
That said, not happy fun reading. Very scary and probably best not read around meal times. I was distinctly not happy the next time I got a headache.

I really enjoyed the book, truth really is stranger than fiction!
Because it is a real account of event it doesn't flow or have a satisfying conclusion like a work of fiction might, but that only detracted from my enjoyment in a minor way. I do appreciate a good suspense and this was able to deliver.
This was given back to my squeemish mother for redistribution

Picked this up at the November meeting at the Joshua Tree Cafe. The pile is looking precarious.
OK - I finally read this as I had put it off thinking I might not like it. BUT - I did. It really makes you think about whether a black plaque type thing will beset us in the next few years. Sometimes it seemed like a mystery book, then you would have a reality check. The end seemed a bit weird.
Well - time to get this book on to someone else at the June BookCrossing meeting at Cravings.
Sounds interesting.
Picked up at the June Calgary BookCrossing Meetup.

The book started off off with a gruesome bang and kept me scared till the end. It's amazing how many close calls and near-disasters there were in this true story.
Great read. I never really wanted to go to Africa anyway.

I read this while taking care of a newborn. It was pretty amazing that I still continued to go out with the baby after reading this.
It was scary how close things got to disaster, in this very global world, things could go south pretty quickly,

I am taking this book to the July Calgary Bookcrossing Meeting.
Picked up at this month's Calgary Bookcrossing meetup. Looking forward to being existential and terrified... Sounds about right.
I read this a couple months ago in the midst of covid panic - when people were either blowing it off as overblown or freaking out it was the end of the world. Boy did it give me a new perspective on things and added to that, it’s scary to think hiv is a level 2 virus, Ebola is a level 4 virus, and covid (I had to google this) is right in between at level 3.
Will be brought back to Calgary bookcrossing whenever mass gatherings are allowed again. Someday maybe hopefully.
