This would have been a good mystery, except the protagonist's mother, Vivian, was just too darned annoying. Granted, Vivian is bipolar, and someone who is more familiar with mental illness might know if this is an accurate portrayal. In any case, it was distracting, and I won't be looking for further books in the series.
