If a murder mystery can be fun, then this one is. A nightschool class in creative writing harbours a mysterious "Sniper" who sets out to scare and upset his (or her) classmates. But as the term goes on, the nastiness escalates, and class members begin to die. Sounds like a typical thriller so far, but the darkness is alleviated by the lighthearted approach, with a cast of just-short-of-clichèd characters (stereotypes they may be, but if you've ever taken a writing class you'll recognise at least a few of them), and the occasional moments of the bizarre.
If I have to criticize anything (and I surely should, seeing as it's about a writing class ;-)), it's that there are far too many characters (the class starts off with 16 members), so many of them never get the chance to rise above their stereotypes. And the ending is a bit weak; but then, that's often the case with mysteries - once you reveal whodunnit, what more is there to say?

The cover caught my eye when I spotted it piled on the table during the farewell brunch and reading the back it looked like an interesting read.
