Letters from a Nut (Bookring)
11 journalers for this copy...

Ted L. Nancy is, in reality, a supremely off-kilter alter-ego who sends patently ridiculous letters and queries to (and receives surprisingly earnest responses back from) corporate honchos, entertainment conglomerates, national publications, politicians, celebrities, and heads of state -- to everyone, in fact, from the president of the Bon Ami Cleanser Company to US Vice President Al Gore.

Jesse, the book is finally here- a very nice hardback edition. I was suprised to see that the book contains in fact the copies (faxsimiles)of the real mails sent and received by the author. I think it`s a funny and original idea. I have two books on my TBR pile which will be finished pretty soon...so I hope I am going to grab it soon for reading and laugh!:-))
Take care and thank you for organising the ring!

I finished the book today. I had a good laugh, and I also had my favorites (letters) but shall keep them in secret in order not to spoil.:-) The most suprising thing were the enthusiastic replies to most fantastic requests. The book makes a good satyre to consumatic society where the rules of business overpower the common sense.
I shall PM *fio-dagua* and hopefully, the book will start moving ahead again.
Thanks once again,Jesse, for sharing a good laugh!

Release planned for Monday, January 05, 2004 at caixa de correio in estação dos CTT, Envio Postal/Postal release Portugal.

Something only possible in a great country as The States... who's nuts?? The Writer? The Reader? Us, picking personell letters make public fuzzy statments, inventing and joking with serius matters??? Very nice readind. Jolly good...

It's here in Florence.

I had almost given this one up for lost, but lo and behold, it was in my mailbox waiting for me. I have a few bookrings in front of this one, but I am a fast reader and will get to it soon. You can track my progress on my bookshelf.

This was just an okay book. I was expecting better. There were a few chuckle moments, but other than that, this one fell flat for me.
Thanks for sharing and sorry for keeping it so long. It will go out to the next reader later this week.

RELEASE NOTES:

Arrived safely today. I will get to it in short order, and journal again once I've read.

I, too, got a few chuckles from this book of outrageous letters; some were beyond "a little odd" (in memory of "Cinnamon"the world famous show dog), some were rather funny (Dr. Armand Hammer's name similarity is purely coincidental), and he even managed to ask a few very interesting questions (I mean, really?! Which side do *you* present when entering the isle at a stadium or theatre??) A quick & quirky read that I would recommend to others.
Thanks for sharing, Jesse, and since I have received chocolatefishy's addy already, I will get this in the mail to her on my next PO run. * mailed 3/12

Whoa, sorry about the "anoymousfinder" post, I didn't realize that I wasn't logged in!

Wow. I completely forgot I had this book. I am so sorry. I normally stay on track, but I forgot this time! I hope everyone can forgive me about this. I thought I had already PMed the next person about her address, but I guess I hadn't so I did that a few minutes ago. Again, I'm very, very sorry! I know how annoying it is for someone to have a book for so long, and now I am that someone!
I guess I should post my thoughts about the book as well. I really enjoyed it, it was quite funny to read Nancy's letters, but even more funny to read the responses. I guess what made it so funny was because the people that responded thought that he was writing a real letter (which is point I guess!).
